Rick Waters

Rick Waters is a passionate Agile Coach and Certified Scrum Trainer® with a strong foundation in software engineering and over 15 years of hands-on experience in the tech industry. As the founder of Wisecrum Associates and The New World of Work, Rick empowers teams and leaders through immersive Agile education, transformation coaching, and customized training programs.

Known for his dynamic delivery style, Rick facilitates both in-person and virtual Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) courses, along with advanced offerings like Advanced CSM and Dysfunction Mapping. His engaging presence and deep technical expertise make him one of the most respected facilitators in the Agile product development community.

Before establishing his training company, Rick served as an Agile Coach at high-profile organizations such as JP Morgan Chase, Allstate, Capital One, and Nokia. His 15-year background as a software engineer enables him to bridge Agile principles with real-world development challenges.

Rick is an active member of both the Scrum Alliance and the Agile Alliance and frequently contributes to advancing Agile practices across communities. He is also a proud U.S. Army veteran and founder of Scrum.Vet, an unofficial non-profit initiative dedicated to creating educational opportunities for veterans. In recognition of his service, Rick is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
